It is with great pride and excitement that I can welcome you all to Version 2 of Revelation Project. As of Monday September 29 we have switched over to V2. As we've been doing for some folks over the past two weeks, we look forward to giving you a grand tour of what's new if you haven't already had one.

Over the past 3 months, an immense amount of work has gone into V2. I'd like to take this opportunity to give you some background about how we approached this release and the work we did to bring it to life. While we really started working on this version in earnest in back in May, in reality we've been thinking about this release for almost a year. Over that time, we have collected and absorbed the feedback we received from members of the Nation, thought through our own experiences with Revelation. When we kicked off this release in earnest in May, the first thing we did was to revisit the original vision statement for Revelation from way back in 2006 to make sure it was still valid and we and conducted research with some of the members of the Nation. We developed personas for all of the users of the system - researcher, participant, observer, recruiter - and that helped guide us through our development. We examined all the information we had and thought and discussed and brainstormed and concluded that - independent of any single feature - Revelation will always need to be able to adapt to respond to wherever our customers would take us. V1 had served us well, but we realized the imperative for this V2 release was to create a foundation that would let Revelation scale, adapt and grow.

So that is what we did. There are so many things that we improved in V2 that it would be a rather long message to put them all in. So we will break it down into a series of coming posts. Look for those coming soon.

In the meantime, I would like to take a moment to call out the tremendous work that Dan Herrera, Revelation's CTO and Michael Felix our Interaction Design Lead have contributed to this project. Their leadership, care and attention have allowed us to remake and improve Revelation in a stunningly short amount of time. Together with agile developers James Pozdena and Justin George Revelation's future looks very bright indeed.

Finally, I would like to thank members of the Revelation Nation for your trust, passion and enthusiasm. We couldn't do this without you and we could not ask for better customers and partners. Thank you.

As we move forward I and other members of the Revelation team will be sure to keep you updated on the latest and greatest and I'm sure there will be more news soon to share.
